I love the look of penny round tile. Whether it's colorful, metallic, or just plain white, penny round tile gives a look that is both playful and classic. Penny round tiles became popular in the early 1900s and then gave way to more complex tile patterns and mosaics, which is what gives them a retro feel today. Penny rounds are often seen in white or vintage green and sometimes with a contrasting flower detail. I prefer the simple shape in a classic white with a soft gray grout to give it a little pop (see top right). Try Ann Sacks or Waterworks to find your perfect penny rounds.
