on my radar // pattern play

If I had to pinpoint one thing that draws me to a space, it’s a mix of patterns, prints, and textures. Layering these elements give a space dimension and helps it to feel evolved. Layering bold or colorful patterns gives a sense of energy and vibrancy whereas layering softer more subtle textures and patterns gives a feeling of sophistication. As you can see, I tend to lean towards the bold. We tend to think of patterns, prints, and textures as textiles and fabrics (rugs, curtains, throws, pillows...) but you can also incorporate them in other ways too like using a patterned wall tile, a textured wood floor, or patterned paint detailing. This season, take a chance on playful patterns and mix and match them in your home for a fresh sense of energy in your space.
