A recent article from the ASID eye on design newsletter featured a new trend- mom caves. We are all too familiar with the "man cave" concept; garages and dens with football paraphernalia and xbox game stations as decor. These man caves are well loved by men and women alike, and personally I feel that they are a must in any home. Every man needs a place where he can feel free to sit beer cans directly on the tables and eat chips on the sofa while swapping stories with the boys; so what about the ladies? This concept of "mom caves" applies to any woman who needs a place all their own. A place to decorate as uniquely as the individual, to get away and relax and have alone time or cocktails with the girls. Whatever the need or whatever the reason, these gender specific and personal spaces are a wonderful idea for any and all homes.
