beachy-keen

One of my very favorite things is a well decorated beach house- I love to see the beachy decor used to create spaces somewhere in between natural and simplistic and delightfully tacky. These are some of my favorite aspects of coastal style decor...

swings: they create the perfect place to enjoy the views, ocean breeze and cocktails

ocean-like color tones:  using the whites, blues, and sandy colors of the coast brings the beachy feel inside in a simple way

blue ceilings: this is a tradition in many historic coastal towns such as charleston, beaufort and many others

nautical accessories: when done scarcely, these nautical themed touches add an element of fun without being tacky
a place for flip flops: there is something so wonderful about being able to leave your sandy shoes, toys, and towels lying around

pops of color: bring in some of the brightness of summer inside to add some happy to your home

family style seating: this table is perfect for sandy kids and family to gather for a fun casual dinner, crab boil anyone?

painted wood floors: wet sandy toes are nothing to worry about with a great distressed painted floor like this

natural elements: the wood of the chair, basket, mirror and flooring bring the natural beauty of driftwood and sea dunes
