Weekend Getaway to Santa Barbara

We booked the Surfliner train from Santa Ana to Santa Barbara and saw amazing views along the way.

We caught a beautiful sunset our first night at Stearns Wharf - the boats and mountains in the background was so scenic!
My friend recommended a local brunch place called "The Spot" and it was so perfect! Window ordering with a precious patio complete with yellow umbrellas, drinks in mason jars, and amazing food! My kind of place!
We decided to rent bikes which was so much fun and turned out to be the best way to explore!
We biked to Butterfly Beach which was absolutely incredible - the views were breathtaking and there were really butterflies everywhere!

The Funkzone was our favorite! It's an artsy area full of local breweries and tasting rooms, shops and restaurants. Fox Wine Co. was a great spot with beer and wine as well as booths featuring different local artists and vendors.
The courthouse was another must see. Beautiful historic architecture and breathtaking views from the clock tower!
We had the best weekend and can't wait to go back! Next time, we'd love to check out some of the wineries and towns nearby.

Our Santa Barbara favorites:
The Funkzone : our favorite little arts district of shops, restaurants, breweries and tasting rooms
Fox Wine Co. : great local spot for wine, beer, and shopping all in one hipster space
Area 51 : a quirky little tasting room in the funk zone, the owner Martin is quite the character
Butterfly Beach : absolutely beautiful, especially if you bike there. Go for a beach day or just to take in the views.
McConnells Ice Cream : so yummy!
The Lark : delicious family style restaurant with a wonderful charming ambiance, pricey but so worth it!
Lucky Penny : great little patio lunch spot in the Funkzone
The Shop : adorable little brunch place, delicious food and super charming - must go!
Jane :  romantic little restaurant on State Street. Get the chicken picata!
Stearns Wharf : beautiful views especially at sunset and we heard theres a great tasting room there too
Santa Barbara County Courthouse : incredible views of Santa Barbara from the clock tower
