sneak peek - wedding inspiration
Max and I have been engaged for over a year now and our wedding day, which once seemed so far away, is quickly approaching. We are starting to kick the wedding planning into high gear and I am SO thankful I am that we opted for a long engagement. It's given us plenty of time to wrap our brains around what all needs to be done, what we actually want, and how to combine the two. Now I can assure you it will not be perfect but that's just fine with us.
My girlfriend Rainie, from over at Be Well, and I we're recently chatting about how much incredible inspiration there is to share during wedding planing but not enough time to share it on the blog. So I decided, before my head starts to spin, I would share with you a little sample of what we're dreaming up for our big day. If there's one piece of advice I've heard again and again it is to remember "It's YOUR day!". With all of the traditions, etiquette, and family involvement, it's hard to differentiate what you're "supposed to do" from "what others do" and what you actually want. Max and I working to keep our wedding representative of who we are as a couple - real, laid back, colorful, and fun! We're trying not to get wrapped up in the flowers, lighting, dress, and the details and instead focus on celebrating the merging of our lives and families together and making sure the people we love most have the best weekend ever!
There are so many beautiful ways to do a
wedding but ultimately, we want it to feel like us. Perfectly imperfect us. When we found our venue, we knew a downtown rooftop, walking distance from our loft and all of our
favorite places, was the perfect spot for us to tie the knot! Instead of a
“color scheme” we're opting for vibrant, colorful, mix and match. Neither one of us are matchy people
and I love loose natural florals, like wildflowers and zinnias, bold colors and
textures, and eclectic bohemian details. Great food, a southern style cake, and
music that keeps us dancing all night long and we’ll be happy.
