Last year, my mom, my boyfriend Max and I decided to try our hand at a vegetable garden. It turned out to be a success and after seeing how much we enjoyed it we decided to take it up a notch this year. We expanded our garden to be larger and to include more veggies, specifically of the salsa making variety since that's a staple at my house. So far this summer we've enjoyed delicious home grown yellow and red tomatoes, bell peppers, cherry tomatoes, banana peppers, zucchini squash, jalapenos and basil! We love seeing our little veggies grow and venturing out to the garden each day to discover what's ready for pickin'. Hopefully these 100 degree days and my aggressive approach to fertilizing (how was I supposed to know you can over-fertilize?) will not be the demise of my green thumb. Here's hoping that our beautiful summer garden will continue to grow, along with our salsa supply.
