"D-School" - that's what's up

The Hasso Plattner Institute of Design at Stanford University
As I was sipping my morning coffee in the break room pretending to read the newspaper (let's be honest, I'm more or a blogs and magazines kinda girl) an interesting article caught my eye - "Forget B-School, D-School Is Hot". Being a "D-School" girl myself, I was intrigued. Apparently I was ahead of the trend, well kind of. Does "D-Major" count?

The article, featured in today's issue of the Wall Street Journal, is shining some light on the latest Design School programs for "hybrid thinkers" - focusing on creativity, collaboration, and combining traditional business practices with a creative edge of "design thinking". Courses offered at major Universities like Stanford and John's Hopkins range from "designing products for the world's poor to "D.Compress: Designing Calm". This stuff is right up my alley and with big names getting on board like Google Inc. and Nike Inc., it's no joke - D-School IS Hot! Where do I sign up?!
