great eats in the roswell square

My most recent work endeaver has brought me beyond my typical stomping grounds and out to Roswell, where I quickly discovered the chic urban dining district of the Roswell Square and all of the delicious local eateries and watering holes it has to offer. Here are a few of my new found favorites for great eats in the Roswell square:

Ceviche is a small family owned and operated taqueria and margarita bar located in the heart of the Roswell square. I was immediately impressed by the complimentary chips and salsa basket, which is all too often forgotten at the more trendy taquerias. Along with an entire section of Ceviche varieties, the menu offers some crowd pleasers like Mango salsa, Queso fundido, and Fish tacos but also has some more adventurous offerings such as the Elsa's Chicken Enchiladas Verde (Shredded chicken in corn tortillas smothered in green tomatilla sauce, mexican cheese, sour cream, lettuce, tomatoe, onions, avacado & cotija cheese) - delicious! Large chalk boards displaying their variety of speciality drinks and tequilas, and custom bottle fixtures in the bathroom and above the bar give Ceviche a dive bar feel with a delicious mexican twist. With catering and takeout available, a rooftop patio opening Spring 2012, and speciality events such as the upcoming Patron Dinner and Tequila Tasting - Ceviche has something for everyone.

Table and Main is a refined-rustic tavern serving up sophisticated southern cuisine. Just off of the main stretch of Canton Street, Table and Main is located in a 100 year old renovated house complete with a covered front porch and interior fireplace. The quaint front porch, intimate bar area, and side patio (known for the occasional game of corn hole) are balanced by a more formal rear dining area with white table cloths and low lighting, creating an atmosphere that is cozy yet polished. With menu items like Grilled hanger steak with GA peach whiskey demi-glace, Gulf shrimp and stone ground grits with tomato-bacon gravy, and Country-fried biscuit-breaded Veal medallions -  Table and Main has just what it takes to make any chic southerner or avid food lover keep coming back for more.

INC. Street Food offers a eclectic twist on the street food concept while celebrating the bold flavors of authentic Latin tastes and culture. Located in a small space in the throws of the Roswell square action, INC street food is noticeably a favorite as the front patio area is often buzzing with the sights and sounds of happy guests and margarita clad patrons. The interior is designed to reflect the "culture and streets of the region" - colorful graffiti-esque wall decor and a kitchen that is literally a food truck (wheels and all) gives a fun and funky vibe that is sure to lure the chic and trendy. If the decor isn't what entices them it would be the menu - Ahi Tuna Tacos, Cactus and Yucca fries and a Tres Chiles Margarita (Street Margarita, Thatcher’s Organic Tres Chiles Liquer & Jalapeno Candy) are among the exotic culinary offerings you can choose from. INC. Street Food is a key player in the Roswell Square restaurant scene and a must try for visitors.

Salt Factory Pub is a fresh modern take on the traditional English pub - comfortable yet stylish, offering good quality favorites with a focus on local and organic ingredients. Salt Factory is positioned in a prime corner location, drawing in passerbys and regulars alike. Leather, exposed brick, and vintage Edison light bulbs are a tasteful take on masculine and industrial details, creating a space that is relaxed and welcoming while also stylish. The approachable american menu complements the restaurants aesthetic and offers comfort food classics such as Shepherds Pie as well as specialities such as Marinated international olives and the Butcher block (offering a mix and match selection of various meats). The extensive beer menu and open layout makes Salt Factory Pub somewhere to dine with friends or relax over a few beers.

happy birthday baby bro

Happy Birthday you stud!

Today my baby brother turns 19!
I cannot believe how fast the time has flown by- it seems like just yesterday we were counting our beanie babies, playing in the creek, and rollerblading around the neighborhood.
Love you T-Rat, hope you have an amazing day!

sun in my belly

Theres nothing I love more than trying out a new eatery on a beautiful Saturday, so naturally on the morning of my birthday that's just what we did. Max and I ventured to Kirkwood to try out the neighborhood cafe Sun in My Belly, which based on the name alone I was sure to fall in love with. Immediately upon arrival I got giddy at the sight of the trendy crowd, repurposed building, eclectic interior, and a menu that could have been made for me. Pimento cheese omlette, challah french toast, pressed brie and fig jam focaccia... basically my foodie dreams come true.
After ogling over the menu I decided to try the special - an prosciutto, purple onion, mushrooms, and gouda cheese omelet served with a homemade biscuit and honey bacon... It was love at first bite.

The belly pleasing southern-inspired menu and sunny "vintage-meets-crafty" interior made this an all around win for a gal like me. SiMB put some sun in my belly, a smile on my face, and a new go-to brunch spot on my local favorites list.
