7 years of dating + 6 months of marriage

Yesterday made 7 years that Max and I have been dating, and as of today we have been married for 6 months. Now that we’re married, I’ve promised Max that we can forget our “dateaversary” but 7 years is worth mentioning! I mean, 7 years! Looking back, they were some of the most memorable, growth-filled, crazy years of our lives. It’s amazing how much has changed but one thing remains – Max, you are still my favorite. You still make me laugh and make each and every day better.

Over the years, Max has always said “this is just a part of our story” and I’m excited to share that the next part of our story is an adventure. Max has accepted an emergency ultrasound fellowship at the University of California, Irvine so in June we will be MOVING TO IRVINE CALIFORNIA! I couldn’t be more excited to embark on this incredible adventure. Cali here we come!

Three Lovely Things

This past weekend was one of those where I felt like I got to do a little bit of all the wonderful weekend things I dream about all week long. You know what I mean!? Max had the weekend off, which is always a treat in-and-of itself, and we slept late, made brunch, danced the night away at a wedding, and just had an all around great weekend together. I used to do a little feature here on the blog called "three lovely things" (remember these?), so in that spirit – here are three lovely things from our weekend recap.

1 // I always love to make something yummy for game days at home, and since it was an early game I decided to make homemade sausage balls, monkey bread and mimosas. After a 51-3 win, we rounded out the afternoon with a family nap. Hello Saturday!!

2 // After our lazy Saturday morning, we threw on our best black tie attire and headed to our friend’s wedding. I loved every second in my amazing Rent the Runway - Cynthia Rowley Winter Floral Dress and Max was looking sharp in his tux. We danced the night away, drank way too much champagne, and had the best time!

3 // While I’m not much for a “fashion selfie”, these shoes are just too amazing not to share. My new Dolce Vita Shiloh mules are my latest obsession.

Vegas Vacay: Libertine Social at Mandalay Bay

Last month, I tagged along with Max to Vegas for a work-conference-turned-long-weekend-vacay and we had the best time! I'd been to Vegas back in college with my girlfriends, and Max had been with his guy friends for a bachelor party, so going together, as a married couple, was a whole different experience in it's own great way!

While exploring the hotels and casinos we ran across Libertine Social in Mandalay Bay and I was immediately drawn-in by the interior. The neon teal signage, eclectic-collected interior, kilm rugs and green leather sofas, and the crazy “body” wall had me so intrigued. So we decided to stop in for lunch and the food was just as impressive as the interior! We shared the tuna cones (recommended by the waitress and SO good!), Maggie's farmers market salad, and the hummus and I have to say this was the BEST meal we had the whole weekend! Super fresh and flavorful with an amazing atmosphere to top it all off.

Of course I had to find out who designed the space, and after a quick google search found it was Studio Munge - a firm out of Toronto. According to Principal/Designer Alessandro Munge, the design was based on a narrative of a made-up-character Kyle and designed to reflect his lifestyle. How cool?!
