Oh hi there, it's been a while! Sorry for the silence around here. 2017 is flying by already - January is gone and it's already February which means it's time for birthday celebrations!
My birthday and my mom's both fall on the weekend this year, which calls for a birthday-getaway, so we're heading to Asheville - me, mom and Max! I've always wanted to go and none of us have ever been so I can't wait to check it all out with my two favorite people!
Birthdays have always been a big deal for our family. My mom threw me legit (usually themed) birthday parties until I was ...24?... so it's always fun to celebrate by doing something together and making a memory. This picture, even though it's terrible quality, is one of my very favorite photos. It was taken on my birthday years ago. It captures all of the things I love so much - my mama and max, in my childhood kitchen where so many of my birthday parties and memories were made, holding pugs, with a lemon cheese camellia covered cake. I mean, if that doesn't say "Lauren's birthday" I don't know what does. As a matter of fact, I have this photo framed on my desk at work, that's how much I love it.
So, off to Asheville we go! Happy birthday to me and happy birthday to you mom! I can't wait for a weekend of birthday celebrations and memories with you and Max!!
