An open love letter to my husband

To my loving husband, who worked until 4 am but woke up at 9 to catch a train to Santa Barbara for a weekend getaway, just us two - thank you. Thank you for a weekend of bike riding, delicious meals, wine tasting and letting me pick the restaurants.

To my husband who studied for his boards on the train home, so we could spend a little longer exploring, thank you. Thank you for being the guy that chats up the winemaker and buys the bottle because you enjoyed his story. Thank you for making life fun and for being the wonderful man I fell in love with years ago who still makes me fall more in love today. Thank you for all the many ways that you love me. Thank you for being you. Here's to many more weekend getaways in our future.

Life Lately

Life has been flying by since our move to California and we've been having so much fun discovering new places and having visits from family and friends! Max and I have been making a point to explore as much as we can and we're loving being so close to so many incredible beaches.  I don't think being able to walk to the beach will ever get old!

My mom and brother made a trip out here in August and since my brother had never been to California, we tried to fit in as much as we could during their trip - Joshua Tree National Park and Laguna Beach were a few of our favorites!
I found myself with a new gig as a Home Stylist at Anthropologie & Co. in Newport Beach and I am absolutely loving it! Anthropologie as a brand is so inspiring and I work with so many wonderful people - it truly is a dream job!
My cousin Emily is living in Silverlake and it's so nice to have each other out here, especially since we are so far away from all of our family and friends back on the east coast. We're both so busy we can't get together as often as we'd like but when we do it's like being home!

Max's brother Alex came to visit a few weeks ago and we had the best time showing him around California and we even made a trip to Vegas - he'd never been so it was a must while he was out here. We explored the strip, the hotels and casinos and found ourselves loving old vegas. A few weeks later, the terrible tragedy of the Vegas shootings happened and after just being there it really hit home.
Just last week my mom came to visit and it was so nice to see her! This was her third trip to California since I moved out here in May and I am so thankful that she's been able to come visit and be a part of our life out here. We went to a concert (Young the Giant - my favorite!), had dinner with Emily in Silverlake, rode bikes on the beach and more. It was such a nice visit and I've missed her so much!

We're so enjoying this new adventure. There is so much to see and do out here and California truly is so beautiful but what makes it so much fun is having some of the people that we love most able to enjoy it with us! Up next - a weekend getaway to Santa Barbara!

On My Radar :: Fall Wishlist

Well hello there! Life has been flying by and it's hard to believe that Fall is upon us. While it's still sunshine sand and surf here in California, the cooler evening temperatures have me thinking of Fall textures and patterns. Here are a few things on my radar this season :

Levi's altered trucker jacket : love the no collar and cut hem - perfect for fall temps
Cora frames by Warby Parker :  a subtle cat eye and warm tortoise pattern with a rose arm - yes please!
Sam Edelman Corra Tapestry Ankle Boots : because these would make me feel like stevie nicks
Mac Velvet Teddy : according to Courtney Kerr the perfect neutral
OPI Beyond the Pale Pink : truly the perfect white with a touch of soft pink
McGee & Co. Decorative Beads : I have to admit, I was a hater at first but I'm starting to really get onboard with this decorative beads idea on a coffee table or side table...
Free People Deep V Bandeau Cami : this silk and lace combo in the oversized fit and deep color - YES!
Banana Leaf Palm : the perfect coastal touch in our apartment!
A kitty kat for Bruce : because he needs a friend!!!

What's on your Fall wishlist?!
