give thanks

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! I hope that you all are able to enjoy a delicious meal with family and friends. This year, my fiancé Max and I will be hosting our first Thanksgiving and we couldn't be more excited! I have so much to be thankful for. To name a few, this year I am thankful for..

our sweet little home here in Birmingham
being engaged to my wonderful Max, who makes me laugh every day
my health and happiness and that of my loved ones
for my wonderful friends and family who make it all worth it
for great food and fellowship this thanksgiving day!

May your Thankgiving be filled with laughter and joy!

Christmas prep

Can you believe it's almost Christmas!? My mom says that I say this every year but THIS year I am really feeling the holiday spirit. I don't know if it's the fact that I've finally left the nest, or because we'll be hosting our first Thanksgiving but I just can't wait for the festivities to begin!

Naturally, the first thing I want to do is to prep our space. With Christmas decorations and family celebrations ahead, a deep clean is all but necessary. So I've been cleaning and organizing our loft like a mad woman and it feels SO good! Now that everything is spick and span, I have a clean slate to work from and embrace holiday decorating! This image really inspired me because this year, I am loving large scale elements, simple decor, and luxe details.

Here are a few tips to help prepare yourself for the Holiday season:

1 // do a deep clean -  this helps prepare your space and your mind for the festivities ahead.
2 //  simplify - remove extra accessories, artwork, etc. to create a clean slate for holiday decor
3 // focus on thanksgiving first - I know it can be hard but remember, thanksgiving comes first! Be sure your turkey day celebration doesn't get overshadowed by your eagerness for Christmas
4 // prioritize - set all of your holiday items out in a separate room to evaluate what you truly love and what can be kept tucked away.
5 // take your time - holiday decorating doesn't have to happen all at once. Start with your favorite pieces and add to it as you see fit. This way you will end up with a cohesive look and not all the extra...

Happy almost holidays you guys!

three lovely things

1 // Saturday morning, Max and I slept in, cooked french toast together, and actually ate at the dining room table instead of in front of the tv per the usual. It was a the best, perfectly simple Saturday morning.

2 // This past Sunday was cold and rainy and I found myself wandering around Urban Suburban in Crestwood and absolutely falling in love with this charming place! This was one of my favorite little booths full of vintage Christmas treasures. This place is a true gem!

3 // This coming Saturday I leave for NEW YORK CITY!! I have never been and am so excited to finally experience NYC! My mom and I will head there for a few days of exploring the city before heading back to Birmingham for Thanksgiving. I cannot wait!!

Happy Monday Tuesday! May your week be filled with lots of lovely things.
