On my radar // Made Goods
Being in interior design, I receive more company email blasts, product catalogs, and to-the-trade offers than I even have time to go through, but every once in a while there will be something that really catches my eye. Today that something was Made Goods.
What first intrigued me about Made Goods was their catalog. It is bright purple with crisp white lettering on thick professional quality catalog paper, which is always a good sign (if your catalog looks cheap and unintentional chances are your products will too). After glancing through the catalog, I realized that they offer a wide variety of products that are beautiful, charming, and unique. Made Goods' products are hand made from natural materials and the textures and finishes are stunning. Incorporating contemporary touches like metallic and acrylic resins with natural materials like shells and raw, irregular wood makes these products contemporary and full of character. Made Goods' furniture, lighting, mirrors, and accessories are as thoughtfully designed as they are intriguing - they are definitely on my radar. These are a few of my top picks...

a dreamy little cottage
Some people dream of being a movie star. Some people dream of winning
the lottery. I dream of having a sweet little cottage to call home; one with
painted shutters, a front porch swing, and planter boxes. A picket fence and
beautiful family living inside would be nice too but hey, let’s not get carried
away.
This 540 square foot home, featured on Houzz,
is a lovely example of my kind of dream home. The idea of an open layout in a small home with big character has always appealed to me. I much preferred my
historic studio efficiency apartment over my 2 bedroom new construction while in
college. I like the notion of “cozy” living. But it’s not only the cozyness of
this home that I love – it’s the whole feel of the architecture and design,
personality and character. I mean, could that picture with the black cat, open
door, and warm interior lights be any more inviting!? The textural wood wall
and industrial ceiling beams, the vintage range and wood burning stove, and the
wall full of colorful books are all beautifully in sync. And from the outside,
the moss covered roof, front porch swing, and that great tree growing right up
through the deck all exude warmth and love. If these walls could talk I bet
they would have a story to tell.
